There were just 5 of us on the drive with a fifth meeting us at the restaurant. Gary & Joy Phillips, the leader of the group, took us on some curvy roads with spectacular scenery. Parts of the road had lanes that were barely wide enough for the Corvettes wide stance and tires. On that stretch, only the passenger was able to do some scenery viewing, the driver had to pay close attention to the road. We had a table waiting for us at the Old Heidelberg restaurant where the food was plentiful and very German and the conversation was pleasant, albeit, a little on the political side. After the late lunch, everyone dispersed and wandered around downtown Helen visiting the shops and people watching.
