The best barbecue I’ve found in the South is at Haywood Smokehouse in Waynesville
(technically Hazeiwood, a suburb village). Being from Kansas City, I’m a connoisseur. This
is a fun drive for some great food.
Thursday, August 20. Meet at 9ish, roll by about 9:l5ish. Place opens at 11, always busy,
we’re advised to arrive on the early side.
We’ll start from Holly Springs country store again, at the intersection of 11 and 178. Up
178 to Rosman, there we will turn left at the light (Main), left at the next stop sign (to rejoin
178), left again at the next stop sign onto US 64. A short distance later, we’ll turn right onto
215. There are a few turns at the end, this will highlight those intersections.

Autocross. Michelin Proving Grounds
I'm Chris Shearer (chris@wheelhousemedia.tv) with Team Wheelhouse, and we've partnered with SCCA Central Carolinas on an autocross at the Michelin Proving Grounds in Mountville on Saturday, Aug 15. I wanted to reach out and invite the Ridge Runner Corvettes to come out and run with us.
It's a controlled setting with low speeds, no traffic, and one car on course at a time, so it's a safe, low-risk way for your members to put their cars through their paces. Loaner helmets are available, and for anyone new to it we'll have instructors on-site plus ride-alongs to get them comfortable.
It's a 2026 CCR Championship points round that also benefits Team Wheelhouse in support of mental health advocacy, so it's a great day out for a good cause.

Mountain Cruise to Mica’s Mountain Kitchen

Mica’s is a pleasant restaurant at Sapphire, about three miles east of Cashiers on 64. Our drive from Holly Springs will take the long way, to enjoy some fun driving. Most of the drive will be on 178, then 281, then 107.

Cruise to Historic camden
Ricky McClain is leading this cruise to Camden.
We will meet at 100 Chevy Drive Fountain Inn SC at 8am. We will Leave at 8:15am and take 385/26 to exit 74 (hwy 34) towards Winnsboro. We will Drive thru the country and a few small towns to Camden historical site at 222 Broad Street Camden SC 29020. Once we are done with our tour, we will then have lunch at the el jimador located at 168 Wall Street Camden SC 29020.
